World Language/Dual Immersion
GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS
In order to graduate the World Language Immersion Program your child must:
A. Successfully complete four consecutive years of Dual Spanish Language courses listed
below with a C or higher.

Advanced Language and Composition Students must successfully complete this course in order to enroll in A.P. Spanish Language and Culture. |
Spanish for Native Speakers 2 Students may also be placed in the Heritage 1 or 2 based on comprehension level and Spanish oral ability. It is intended to support the needs of your child. |
10th |
A.P. Spanish Language and Culture Students must successfully pass this course in order to be a World Language Immersion Program graduate. |
Advanced Language and Composition Students must successfully complete this course in order to enroll in A.P. Spanish Language and Culture. |
11th |
A.P. Spanish Literature and Culture Students must successfully pass the A.P. Spanish Language and Culture course. |
A.P. Spanish Language and Culture Students must successfully pass this course in order to be a World Language Immersion Program graduate. |
12th |
Spanish Film and Culture This course must be taken senior year. |
A.P. Spanish Literature and Culture Students must successfully pass the A.P. Spanish Language and Culture course. OR Spanish Film and Culture This course must be taken senior year. |
BILITERACY/MULTILITERACY SEALS
The following Seals recognize the high levels of proficiency attained in English and at least one other world language. ALL students are encouraged to apply but it is not a requirement to be a BHS World Language Immersion Program graduate.
The Seal of Biliteracy of California
In order to be eligible for the State Seal of Biliteracy:
- Students must have completed all English-Language Arts requirements for graduation with an overall grade point average of 2.0.
- Students must demonstrate proficiency in one or more languages other than English by passing an AP Spanish exam with a score of 3 or higher or by successfully completing a four-year course of study in the Spanish language and attain an overall grade point average of 3.0 or above in that course of study.

The Riverside County Seal of Multiliteracy
In order to be eligible for the Riverside County Seal of Multiliteracy:
- Students must apply as incoming Juniors and Seniors.
- Students must follow a three-step process:
- Submit an Intent to Apply by the deadline.
- Submit a Language Portfolio by the deadline.
- If invited to continue, students will participate in the interview process and respond to on-demand writing prompts.
